I'd be fairly confident the problem was caused by overclocking. Over the years I've experienced quite a few overclocked machines that were fine with Seti but did have problems when switched to Einstein. A small backoff in the overclock (usually combined with an improvement in cooling) quite often seemed to fix things.

Gundolf is quite right in suggesting that E@H is harder on the hardware than Seti. If I want to test for system stability, I'll always try E@H. I have a machine right now (P4 with HT) that has been running Seti/E@H 50/50 for years with few problems. Now that it can't get any Seti and is running both virtual cores on E@H, it has crashed or locked up multiple times in the last week or so. The machine isn't even overclocked. Time to pull it apart and check the PSU and the motherboard capacitors ....

Cheers,
Gary.

Hello,

I just set up a Raspberry Pi 5 with Bookworm OS.  When running the Einstein@Home app I get a download error every time:

<core_client_version>7.20.5</core_client_version>

  <error_code>-119 (md5 checksum failed for file)</error_code>
  <error_message>MD5 check failed</error_message>
</file_xfer_error>

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I've been running the app successfully for years using Raspberry pi3 and pi4.  Currently those are working fine with Bookworm.

Thanks much!

Just short update. It fixed by itself. I did not touch it for a week and its start working properly.

now i can really see that pi5 little bit more powerful then pi4.

raspberrypi4    1,219.07
raspberrypi5    1,620.46

avg credits :-)
