Best to keep "backup" project(s) (with a resource share of 0 if you don't want it regularly doing work) to cover for outages, so your RAC doesn't suffer.
The first time this ever happened to me I started making sure I had all of mine FULL of tasks so they can run GPU's for about 5 days or more in case this happens since if you get a bunch of tasks from another project 5 minutes later the server here will be up and full of work again.
I did once and ended up with 100+ LHC's and Pog's.....rather not do that.

It is a shame that BOINC doesn't give us an option to cache a few days of one project and cache a few hours of another one (as the backup).
