Wow... this app screams! My runtimes on my Q6600 have dropped to the 17,000 second range, while with 4.32, I was getting runtimes of about 21,000-22,000 seconds.
The new improvements in 4.36 speed up the second hot-loop more than the first, so the variance should drop. Because of this, the speed-up of 4.36 over 4.32 will not be a uniform factor, but will be smaller for "runtime trough" tasks and greater for "peak runtime" tasks.
That might explain why I'm looking at only 15-20% right now, since what I'm working on is near a trough...
However I found the graphics not coming up properly every time, but couldn't deterministically reproduce the problem. It would actually be nice if someone has a machine that shows this problem somewhat reliably. My current guess is that it requires a "shared user" installation.
Runs Ok on my Win XP "shared user" set up. Are you seeing the known BOINC 5.10.X issue where boinc.exe can only show a graphics window in consol 0, ie the first person to log on. If anyone else (user 2, 3, etc) selects "show graphics" then they see nothing because the graphics has opened on the desktop of user 1. Dave.
I have 4.32 version installed. When installing new version, I just copy files to c:\\program files\\boinc\\project\\einsten.phys.uwm.edu\\ or do I have to delete all the 4.32 version files first from all directories (I have some files from version 4.32 in slots directory)?

Just drop all 4 files into that directory, then restart BOINC (yes, you can do it in that order).
No cleanout needed.
You won't be able to watch the graphics for any task which started running with v4.32, but heck - who needs a screensaver anyway? Modern monitors are so much more resistent to screen-burn than 20th. century monitors were - and you can (should, to save energy) always turn it off when you're not looking at it.

Thank you.
I don't use screen saver anyway, 10mins no input and my monitor is off. :)
I turned off Boinc, copied files, turned it on again, and the msg says restarting task h1... using einstein_S5R3_version 432
How can I fix this? I still have two 4.32 files in slots/0 directory:
einstein_S5R3_4.32_windows_intelx86
and debug file, along with 4.36 version files.

Don't worry about it.
The file was already downloaded to your computer as a 4.32 file, so it stays stamped like that but it will get processed from now on by 4.36.
You will see this in your results output.
When all previously downloaded 4.32 work units have been completed and returned (actually done by 4.36), you will get new work with the 4.36 stamp on them.

This task is completed. First 53% under 4.32: 6 hours 10 minutes. Last 47% under 4.36: 4 hours 29 minutes. Woohoo!

They'll be showing 4.32 until you download new work. So the fix is to download new work. ;-)

So all ok, it will sort itself out.
