No, speed loss.
The new 1.25 is a test app for the validation problems of the HD69XX series.
Slower, but validates (at least the first two, more on the way). Tests are done @ Albert.
Bernd just released the new 1.25 OpenCL app version for Windows and Linux on Einstein@Home.
For the time being, this somewhat slower version will only be delivered to cards of the HD 6900 series. All other cards (that we have seen so far) are doing good enough even with the older, faster app.
In the last 2 days I got only 1.24 tasks, but believe it or not, most of them validate.
Are there some news about the apps or the validator?
Just plain luck :-), No, 1.24 will continue to produce invalid results (going first thru the "inconclusive" state). It's actually a bug but that you did not get the dedicated 1.25 app automatically, we are looking into it and we might already have found the problem.
You could do us a favour: the next time you get work for GPUs (!!), please make a copy of the scheduler_request in file sched_request_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml and store it somewhere safe.
DO NOT POST that file here as it contains your authenticator!!!!
Let us know when you have that file and if we need it for debgugging, we will ask you to send it via e-mail or PM.

I believe this is not needed anymore; I think I already found and fixed the bug.
Over the weekend, actually no tasks for the new atiOpenCL6900 plan class were sent out at all. Sorry for that.
