Guys, watch the lines on the gray disk. It is a clock and the lines are the hands. They move as the globe moves showing what time it is on the globe.
Greetings all,
perryjay,
For as long as I've observed this symbol, I have never seen the "hands" move. If one of the three were the second hand of a clock, it's movement would be most noticeable and an analog clock would have different size hands for the hour, minute, and second indications. Instead, they remain radiating equidistant from the center to the edge, retain their length, and divide the disk into equal thirds at all times.
Sometimes, when viewed at a certain angle, a "hand" may appear to be shortened. However, this is due to the simplistic and very basic programing utilized to make and display the map itself. This also may account for the illusion of "clock hand" movement.
Sorry, but no free toaster oven this time. :-)
Wishing you continuing scientific "fun" and, at least, always valid results,

the grey L-shaped thingy in the sky next to GEO600 symbolizes the Virgo gravitational-wave detector near Pisa, Italy. That is also the reason why it is close to GEO600.

Greetings all,
So. . . does anyone have an idea or knowledge about what the white or grey "LIGO" type symbol near the red GEO symbol is?
Thank you everyone in advance.
