Very very lucky the eye went south of Tampa Bay. If it had been north the story would have been worse than the warnings. Remember the winds are counter clockwise so Tampa got offshore winds, not onshore.
Very fortunate it went just south.
The tornadoes were crazy and highly unusual. If you ever watch the Weather Channel and hear a weather warning sound (like a tone followed by a message), we have about 4 straight hours of tornado warnings, not watches that sounded every minute or so. It was really odd. We are used to tornados during hurricanes but this was very different. These were like Midwest/Central US style supercell tornadoes.

I'm okay with thunderstorms I just don't care for the booms that you can feel thru the body, all new stuff and alot of older stuff around me is being buried underground so they are less susceptible to lightning.
