We had an unplanned power outage yesterday evening (19:30 CEST, someone pulled the wrong plug). The upload server came back up shortly afterwards, but the filesystem check / fix ended up with a few wrongly set permissions, so the actual upload didn't work until we recognized and fixed it this morning (7:30 CEST).
Hallo BM!
First: Thanks for information.
Second: I didn´t find this situation reflected in the list of servers. Every server seemed to work properly. So I couldn´t decide, where the failure is. Or, did I overlook something?

Hi Martin ! :-)
The 502 Bad Gateway error occurs when the 'front-end' - that server your machine is talking to - informs you that it has a problem with a machine that it is relying on, but that second machine is not ( necessarily ) visible to you ie. 'back-end'.
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Hallo Mike!
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I saw also this error remark "transient HTTP error" on my information desk. But I´m not so much familiar with IT-technologies to learn from that, where the failure is, at me or at E@H or elsewhere. And unfortunately the server status page did not give any indicatons to me. So, from this point it could have been elsewhere in the net, but my net did work properly, as far as I could see. So an indication on the serverstatus page would be of help, I think.

Well, it would have. However I can think of no way of monitoring / auto-detecting that would have caught this particular error (with reasonable effort).
