I'm terribly sorry to say that I fail to see the loss. IMO, Seti has from the start drawn some of the most immature types, and with an ill-conceived plan, it could hardly be called "putting our best foot forward in welcome". Assuming, very naively, that ETI just might be innocently drawn to decipher and respond, what kind of impression would S@H give them? Certainly NOT a group with which any intelligent lifeform would want to strike up First Contact, but rather an immature culture, drawn to petty infighting and especially, and most damning, Bigotry.
No, I see just a shameful waste of computer cycles, and the sooner abandoned and disavowed, the better. S@H's sole positive achievement has been to demonstrate the concept of Distributed Computing, rest in Peace.
Sorry,
Michael R.

A whole thread disappeared yesterday.
I queried why it showed (x) posts on the index page but it in fact contained (y) posts. Later in the day, it contained (z) posts which was commented on by someone else. The whole thread has now disappeared.
Welcome to the Twilight Zone.......................
I have a fairly large number of recent posts that show up in my post history, but, when you click on the link to the thread, give you the message: This thread has been hidden for administrative purposes.
Geez, it's getting like a soap opera over there!
Last night, a musical gentleman accused people of 'flooding' and 'spamming' his thread to the point where the window was stretched. He named two people....
It turns out that his thread was faulty right from the start!
Seems the mods are doing the normal cleaning out of the threads of those that are not part of their little click. Just love the way most of the mods there seem to turn their heads away on some, and get nasty with others doing the same thing their buddy is doing.
So yep call me a refugee, or somebody that saw the ship taking on water if ya like. But no more crunching SETI for me. Slowly closeing machines out of SETI.
Bringing a lot of them here, lol. So SETI's loss, equals Einstein's gain.
Seems between the new credit system, the new rules, and the less than neutral mods. SETI is bleeding users pretty fast.
We still need to be on our guard. Another Einstein cruncher, Warhawk, and myself left SAH sometime ago and he was totally jumped on by a number of the existing clique here. Ever where he went on these boards he was minused.
I hope we don't do go through that again. It settled down after a while, but he had to be patient.

The problem is Mike, that a lot of the clique here are the same lil clique thats over at SETI. Unfortunatly moving projects does not always mean you are going to get a better bunch of people to hang out with.
Anyway, welcome to Einstein. Been crunching here for some time now. Just bringing more hardware to bear on this project is all.
