*Walk round Randy* I have never thought of trying that *impressed blink*  this is how knowledge gets passed on isn't it everyone :)  I think this may be the first time we've competed in TLPTW, Randy. If I may take this opportunity to wish you good luck :)

Quite how I'll feel about having done so should you actually win, we'll have to deal with when you come to when we come to it

;)

Thanks Annie, and good luck to you too.

Actually, Jonathan, Mikey, and I go back a good ways...over at Malaria Control...until that project bit the dust. We kind of round-robin'd with Word Link and TLPTPW with occasional guests visiting the threads. We did close down the TLPTPW threads though with an Honorary win for John Clark after he passed sometime back.

"Da Rules" that Mikey posted at the start of his Just Win Edition thread are a simplified version of the final rules we used. Since MCN shutdown, we don't have access to the old threads any more. The Rules for Word Link were even more complicated...including the requirement to have Five intervening posts before any word could be reused. Thus precluding loops in the word train.

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

The way back machine worked

The way back machine worked and I had posted a link to an old thread in the email. Though that is of little concern as this here works just as well, and with more souls around, there's more fun too!

Anyways, about my vacation, I live in Holland and will be going to France, traveling on the route du soleil like about all Dutch people. And yesterday I found out I will be able to roam like at home :-) So starting June 15th I will be able to call from one country to another like if I am at home. So I might just continue posting something every now and then while on vacation!

Anyways, in what ways is winning a TLPTPW thread usefull? One could argue that after winning this you still have not won anything usefull, so I am not going to accept that as a valid argument.

About going back further then my post count here at A@H should not interfere with the chances for anyone to win. Or if it does, then I should be counting effort put into solving my riddle, being cute and the post count for any poster in this thread.

Some background as to why RLAH is awesome here, previously we would have prices like 12 EURO for a 4 minute call while at home I can currently have unlimited calling, sms and 1GB data for 10 EURO. With RLAH it means that my data unlimited calling and sms also apply in France and other EU countries without any additional costs.

Fantastic news Kathryn, I am so pleased to hear that

Yes, dear John. I was highly honoured to be allowed to speak at both the funeral services of John and his wife Sheila who pre-deceased him. I passed on the condolences on behalf of all their many friends throughout he Boinc project community.

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)

Hmmm...I like all of those!! Must be because my dad was in the military and then I was in for a bit and have had FAR worse things to eat in some places!! Travel the World and eat all kinds of food, not ALL of it worth eating it turns out!!!

Hi Annie!!! ;-))

Kathryn I too am VERY glad you are done with your treatments and are moving forward with 'life' again!!!

I too am going on vacation starting today, I am going to Las Vegas for the next week to see a friends daughter get married for the 4th or 5th time. I am not IN the wedding, nor have I been invited as a guest, but the brides parents invited my wife and I to join them for the non wedding party stuff. I have been before, with the brides parents and others over half a dozen times, but it's been awhile and it will be fun to go back again! There have been lots of changes in the last 10 years or so!!

In ten years a lot changes,

In ten years a lot changes, at the very least you tend to be ten years older! That in itself already is a change worth mentioning!
