Clearly the smart move is to drink the rum, but let the code determine the sequence of which hand to use when raising glass to lips. Say, let 'N' represent drinking a glass with be your personal dominant hand and 'R' be drinking a glass with the other one. See how many glasses you can finish before the code becomes either :
- unreadable, or
- suddenly makes sense.
Best of both worlds ! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Holy brisket, it's Annie!!! And if that picture IS of her, I'm standing well back from Mike while she uses every one of her evil powers on him for suggesting it is and for the stuff he said about women.
Without comment on my own smartness, I'm leaving the NR code to those who feel like working on it.
But since this is Einstein@home, one can of course expect geniuses to be around here. And for someone like Albert himself this would probably be far simpler then his riddle. That riddle did take me like 4 hours to solve, ending up with two possibilities of which I could falsify one by trial and error.
I came up with a solution (which I haven't checked yet) in about 45 minutes or so, but I had to make an assumption about the word "neighbor" that I'm not sure was valid. For the record, I say the German has the fish.
I will also have that Bahama mama now.
Speaking of fish,
No fish guts were harmed during the production of this motion picture.

Patiently waiting for the asteroid with my name on it.
LOL. Maybe no-one owns fish ! Specifically : the German could keep say, fruit bats, and none of the clues would be contradicted ...... so the proposed problem is presumably incomplete in its expression. It should say eg. "Fish are kept. Who is their owner ? " :-))))
The rest is a relational database.
Cheers, Mike.

This sounds like Fleming's right-hand rule for generators and the left-hand rule for motors. Nope, I never understood them either, I always thought that current motion in a field was probably a stream or a small river.
The British MI5 usually have a brain code cracking exercise each year, not sure when it comes out. Those who solve it are looked on as possible recruits. in the meantime I'll have a look at Einsteins thingy, which sounds like a list of statements that go in a grid and you use logic to tick or put a cross in the boxes.
p.s., yep as I thought. But fruit bats are not in the list of pets so irrelevant. Why the distinction between keep and own? The question is that you need to find out using clues and logic, which of the parameters given are all in each house, then you will know WHERE the fish are and which nationality also lives there. Asuming that the fish are fed by that person and not the property of a lodger.
Kathryn is right, bugger all that, lets have a drink :-))
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
I lolled at the drink with one hand or the other until either the code makes sense or the letters become unreadable. About Einsteins riddle, perhaps the fish is the owner of the human, it's just a matter of perspective!
Well exactly! Who owns, or keeps, or looks after, or is responsible for, has nothing to do with it. Actually Enstein was clever but wrong. As we all know Cats adopt and own humans, not the other way round!
Another Rum 'n coke landlord :-)

That is true as it's the cats that order humans around and not the other way around.
Fish don't give orders and don't take em either. Humans still serve the fish though, as it's the humans that clean up and the fish only make things filthy. Just weird that the human generally outlives his/her owner.

Humans still serve the fish
They do in restaurants.
Firstly by over fishing North Atlantic cod stocks, and secondly by cleaning fish tanks.
Goldfish are the worst.
