We've got an enclosed snowman lamp that we use for Xmas decs each year. This year the bulb went which is small screw one at 15W. Ooops no, backtrack, with these new fangled continental designations it is apparently called an E14 SES, if you want a bigger screw it's an E27 ES (the numbers seem sort of appropriate as well as for diameter). Problem was that I bought an ordinary one which only lasted one day. D'oh! Went and bought a proper 15W oven bulb and it's been working fine for 3 days!
You need to be a lighting technician for Xmas decs these days :-) Although why so many tree lighting sets commit suicide when left on their own in the loft for a year has never been solved in a century. They work perfectly fine when you put them away, but won't work when you get them out next year. Perhaps it's boredom? Next year I'll go up every 3 months and have a chat to them and see how they're getting on.*
*Actually after much research it is all a dastardly government plot to support the lighting industry. Each set has a tiny chip that self implodes after 9 months if not used. The only answer is bring Xmas foward to September! Hah! that will get them at their own game :-) **
**But of course we would have to do that in June the year after, and in March after that, before we got back to Xmas at Xmas. But by that time the set would be 5 years old and time to buy a new one anyway! Wossat? The January sales in July is a minor glitch that can be glossed over.
Sits back and lets Einsteinians marvel at the sheer ingenuity of the scheme, pretty good eh?
Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
Why do doctors have to practice?
You'd think they'd have got it right by now
Merry xmas to you and all your families. Surely the no 26 is only 'good for' one event - the Boxing day Ashes Test match at the MCG - Australia vs England! Cheers.

It wasn't his heart that got him it was ironically an infection.
I donated enough money to buy a bolt for the Scotsman's restoration fund, got a certificate somewhere!
