Oi!! Turn it over and it

Oi!! Turn it over and it could be a righthanded secret squirrel chain saw. Think OUTSIDE the box, not like that bloke Schrödinger who only thought inside it!!

If the item in the picture was rotated right at 90 degrees, you could hold the saw in your left hand, and rotate the handle with your right hand.

if the item in the picture was rotated left at 90 degrees, you could hold the saw in your right hand, and rotate the handle with your left hand.

If the item in the picture was turned over i.e rotated 180 degrees, the same reasoning would apply.

I assume that you are aware of the left handed tea cup syndrome?

Disregarding the chain saw blade and the crank. look at the original hand saw blade and grip. They are not at right angles to each other. The grip is angled to provide the user the best leverage when pushing the saw's teeth through the wood. Turning it upside down, besides making it not cut anything, also puts the grip at a very awkward angle to the blade edge that would then be down, and very little cutting would get done even if there were teeth there.

Therefore, the device as pictured is clearly designed to be held in the right hand and cranked with the left. Turning it over to hold with the left and crank with the right would result in the grip being at that same awkward angle.

Schrödinger's cat is a

Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. It illustrates what he saw as the problem of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics applied to everyday objects. The scenario presents a cat that may be simultaneously both alive and dead, a state known as a quantum superposition, as a result of being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur.

The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when one looks in the box, one sees the cat either alive or dead, not both alive and dead. This poses the question of when exactly quantum superposition ends and reality collapses into one possibility or the other.

I don't pretend to understand quantum mechanics*, although I'm sure many scientists do pretend. Simple common sense says that the POSSIBILITY of the cat being alive or dead is evens or 50/50 until the box is opened and then you know for sure whether you won your bet or not. Quantum mechanics or that lot in Denmark have nothing to do with it.

* That is when 4 of them work on your car in the garage.

Here I thought you were talking about your 'Quantum Bill' after 4 mechanics work on your car!!

Not quite Mikey. "Quantum Bill" was a pet Pelican of a mate of mine some years ago. Although when he got the garage bill he definitely thought he was being given the bird!
