Is there a GPU version of the app in the works?

AQUA@home is releasing WUs

AQUA@home is releasing WUs for CUDAable systems with running times of about 100 hours. If you have a CUDA rig you can try them.

why do I even bother crunching on the CPU any longer ?

As for the other GPU projects out there: SETI -- no linux (stock) app; GPUGRID -- OK this is an alternative, but I don't want to join another project.

Hi Michael,

I see you are a fellow Enigma @ Home cruncher.

Maybe they need a GPU app ! _ We need to break those

German codes and find out what Angela Merkel is up to :-)

Hi Bill,

reached my credit goal of 100K at E@H. If you want to know what Angie is up to, just listen here (in German).

Michael

PS: This was a GPU thread right? Sorry, for being a bit OT.

And the answer is YES its out

And the answer is YES its out there go get it. see sticky threads at top of page. :)

Now then you may be thinking this is a dumb thing to post,
but if like me, you also have your web prefs set to mail `us` when a new post arives on this thread,
anyone not an avid E@H reader now know`s its out for test

And I havent got a crunching GPU to play with :(

edit - And I can`t let 125 posts go without a (possibly) final comment . . . . .
someone had to chirp in :)

Ah, there's nothing like a new experimental application release to stir up the Boards a bit. Gives the mods something to do, stops us nodding off ..... :-) :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Seriously, I guess you're thinking along the lines of some ( news particularly ) sites that nudge you on topics you've designated as of interest to you. Hmmmmm ..... I think the project policy thus far has been not to get involved in mass mail-out functions. I think it's being kept in abeyance for the day ( one day ..... ) when a really big discovery is found. Like our first GW detection.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

I was thinking above thread level, registrations per subset(s) of interest. That is in the case of a new thread related to another existing one. I think some sites use word associations to deduce what you might be interested in. Amazon certainly has got that down to a fine art - I got sick of all their endless 'suggestions' so I opted out.

Cheers, Mike.

Fortunately with Amazon, yes. You can set that in account preferences. It worked for me at least.

With 'physicsworld.com' - with which I registered only casually to read an article referred to by another contributor here - I have indicated several times via their recommended link for unsubscribing. Yet I still get mail. Interestingly I don't get mail confirming my un-subscription. Their mail is largely job ads and product sponsors ( 'Need solenoid or modulator power supplies?' ), with some physics topics mentioned.

I once similarly registered with a supplier of molecular models ( ball and stick - my son was doing chemistry ) and necessarily gave my home address for delivery. I wound up receiving junk mail nagging for subscription funds to the 'American Chemical Society'.

And don't get me started on Time Life. Threatening 'court action' over $40 for something I never ordered, paid for, received or even heard of. Rang 'em up once even to tell them that. I reckon it would be a near ideal scam for their own employees to 'divert' product, while 'fitting up' prior customers as cover. It'd take more than one conspirator, but it's do-able. However those nasty letters do help me to keep warm in winter though. :-) :-)

Sigh :-(

Anyway, these are examples of the possible complexity, and due care to be taken, with a more sophisticated approach to contributor interaction.

Cheers, Mike.
