No problem there, Gravy --

Was trying out a bit of spacing differences, but it didn't seem to make any change. Don't look too bad though, so I guess I'll keep it ....

yes, browsers strip out multiple spaces, so even if they got through the bulletin board they would not show in a browser.

OK then, suppose you want to make a triple that does show up differently in a browser? Use the code   for each space, and it will pass through. Don't forget the semicolon at the end - on some breowsewrs it works without the semicolon, on others it doesn't.

And that brings me on to a second point about layout: how your posting looks in one browser might be slightly different from how it looks in another. Even if both readers are using the same browser, when the users have screens with different resolutions the text might be laid out differently or two graphics might end up stacked vertically on one and side by side on another.

So don't spend too much time making it look perfect, cos it won't look that way to everyone anyway!

OceanArcher - how did you get your stats to show up side by side instead of on top of each other?

Thaumielx72 --

I wrote the two sequences as one line with no carriage returns - just a couple of spaces between the two listings.

Notice this only works if there is room.

Look at the page in a narrower window and they still stack on top of each other.

True!

But I believe most people post on their top machine (it's your money!) and most screens I've seen use the highest possible resolution. It's what your looking at the whole time - it might as well be the prettiest you have...

(For instance - the orbit@home team is going to release it's DC project in linux to begin with and if I want bragging rights early I had better be online with them. So I'm right now learning Knoppix Linux - a huge improvement over reading about Linux on the web. Well, the first thing I had to know was how to set the screen resolution to 1024X768 it was bothering me to look at a 640X480 page. But thats just me.)
