So then I guess the question

So then I guess the question should be....

Question : Will Einstein@Home go through a period of "no work from server" during the transition to S5, or will we not?

OR : What are the official plans with dates for when we complete the current S4 search?

You have only 28 days before the S4 Search ends and you run out of work to send, according to the Server Status page. PLEASE inform us of your plans so that we know what to expect!

I would conclude that there is no gap.
Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Sorry, Mike, but Bruce's post you linked to does absolutely nothing to answer my questions.

Aaron: I take Bruces message

Aaron:
I take Bruces message to mean that the distribution of S5 work units will begin before the S4 work units are exhuasted.

Probably the same messy

Probably the same messy overlap result that we had switching from the einstien app to the albert app, with the first S5 data sets being added to replace exausted s4 ones while other s4 ones are still being ran down. Followed by a smattering of s4 results on with a long tail distribution as the those that weren't completed get reparcelled out.
