How can I tell if the reason is this limit?

When the Client hits this limit, the server will send a message "reached daily quota of ... tasks".

Thanks Bernd,
I'll grep the logs when I get back to those systems.

Are these your only machines on BOINC 7?

Are you aware that the cache settings are completely different for BOINC 7? The first value is now a 'low water mark' and the second is the increment to add to create a 'high water mark'. If you are using 'old style' cache settings, the symptoms are that the cache will drain to zero before 'refilling' occurs.

If this is your problem, you have essentially three choices - been there, done that, got the T-shirt :-).

1. Upgrade all hosts to v7
2. Put the v7 hosts in a different venue to the others
2. Use local prefs on the smaller subset of hosts

The 'best' solution is probably to use venues since when you want to tweak your settings you don't have to visit individual hosts. I ran out of venues a long time ago so I have to use local prefs on the quite small subset of hosts I have running v7.

If you know all about the cache settings for v7 and this is not the reason for running out of work, please excuse the intrusion.

Cheers,
Gary.
