Oh - not only Einstein@Home, but LHC@Home, too? Sounds like a client problem to me. Do you want to give it another try with the 4.19?

I first start running Einstein@Home in June and everything was fine until I also started running LHC@Home in late July. Then I started getting "Applications Error" such as "Einstien 4.79-Windows-intelix86exe. The instructions at 0xG939eta4 referenced memory 0x0000001b4. The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the propgram." The "messages" would read simimilar to "8/8/2005 7:18:21 PM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result l1_0972.0__0972.1_0.1_T12_S4lA_2 ( - exit code 99 (0x63))". Sometimes the computer locked up and I had to do a cold shut down. So I detached the LHC project and ran Einstein by itself for 48 hours. Everything went just fine. Then I suspended Eintein and ran LHC for 48 hours. Everything went just fine. Then today I ran both Einstein and LHC and started getting the same type of error messages and comupter lock ups (See above.) What should I do?

I too am having endless

I too am having endless problems with Einstein@Home(E@H), but only after I installed SETI@Home (S@H) at the same time. SETI@Home has no problems, just Einstein@Home.

When I had only E@H running, I had one good result uploaded. That's when I installed S@H. From then on, E@H always results in the "Access Violation" message for every task once it is 100% processed. I discover the Access Violation on a pop-up window the next time I sit down to use my computer. Upon acknowledging the pop-up window, an entry is then written to the Messages window on the BOINC Manager. Here are the lastest such messages for 4 different jobs:

8/11/2005 10:23:55 PM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result w1_1021.5__1021.7_0.1_T07_S4hA_3 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

8/12/2005 9:10:07 AM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result w1_1021.5__1021.7_0.1_T10_S4hA_1 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

8/13/2005 9:42:24 AM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result w1_1021.5__1021.7_0.1_T11_S4hA_1 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

8/14/2005 9:55:39 AM|Einstein@Home|Unrecoverable error for result w1_1021.5__1021.6_0.1_T13_S4hA_3 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

It's unfortunate that while that pop-up error message is displayed, no work of any kind for any project takes place until I acknowledge the pop-up error message window and close it. If I'm away from my computer for extended periods, that's a huge percentage of time that my computer is not helping these projects.

Are you running the BOINC screensaver?

Try running without graphics - set the screensaver to "none" or "blank" and don't do "show graphics". Some graphics drivers don't work right, particularly ATI cards with recent drivers.

If the problem goes away and you want to continue using the BOINC screensaver, try running the beta version. Details are here, use this thread for any problems.

Your computers are hidden so we can not see what the problem might be. Even though you joined this project 6 months ago, it appears that you haven't submitted any work previously. Have you just started crunching? If so, you might care to read the FAQ, particularly the sixth question. The link to the FAQ is on the front page of the website.

Cheers,
Gary.

I'll re-enable the viewing of

Message 14591 in response to message 14590

I'll re-enable the viewing of the host computers. I stopped the E@H project since it would be no use if it is just getting errors. I'll re-enable it so you will be able to see the results.

By the way, i'm using the Beta Windows version of E@H as suggested from a previous reply.

Hello everybody, After

Hello everybody,

After re-enabling the E@H project on my WinXP (SP2) machine, i'm still getting errors on the result. See below... (see also my previous post)

http://einsteinathome.org/task/7785563
http://einsteinathome.org/task/7792004

I have exerted all efforts to test my WinXP system both hardware and running softwares to check if there is an error on my system (including the memx86 test app) but can't find any. All my other boinc projects are running smoothly, no errors encountered of sort.

I hope, somebody can enlighten us with the errors that is occuring on the E@H results.

Regards...

I downloaded the Boinc

I downloaded the Boinc program on August 10 and have subscribed to Einstein@Home and Seti@Home. Since then I've completed several projects for both - yet on each I've registered a Client Error, with the result that I've got no credits!

I've checked all my settings with help from the message boards and everything seems to be running normally. What am I doing wrong?

Thank You

Rob and AcidSlide, Are you

Rob and AcidSlide,

Are you running the BOINC screensaver? If so, try running without it - either set it to "none" or "blank". See if the WU's complete when not displaying the graphics.

Some questions:

What is the preference for "Leave applications in memory while preempted" set to? If its "no", try running with it set to "yes" (try this before turning off the screensaver).

Is the .NET framework installed? If so, which version?

What modules are loaded with the Einstein@Home program. Could be theres a conflict with another module. Get ListDLLs and run it, copying the output here. The Einstein@Home application has to be active and displaying graphics (show graphics is OK). After its downloaded and unzipped, open a command prompt and change directories to where you put the listdlls program. Enter these commands:

listdlls einstein >modlist
notepad modlist

Notepad will pop up with the output, letting you easily copy and paste it into a reply here.

Thanks,

Walt

Hi Walt, Yup, i'm running

Message 14595 in response to message 14594

Hi Walt,

Yup, i'm running the BOINC screensaver, well actually its one of the things that caught my attention on the BOINC projects, its the screensavers. :)

Now for your other questions, the current setting for "Leave applications in memory while preempted" is set to "No", i'll try the "Yes" option.

No, I didn't install (yet) the .Net framework. (Well, i'm pretty sure I haven't installed it, checked already my system and no .NET, even checked the registry to be sure)

I'll do the ListDLLs thing once the E@H project is running and send the results as soon as possible.

By the way, should I switch back to the non-beta version of E@H? I'm currently running the beta 0.03 version as was suggested from previous posts.

regards,
AcidSlide
