Hi Ariane,

It's still looking good, I see. Thanks for the update.

Einstein is sure clocking up some hours. Seti has not yet downloaded a new work unit but sooner or later that will happen and then Seti will be allowed to make up some time.

Your free space looks OK.

GARY ! Hello ! I thought that i will no more see you again . Thanks for your reply , i'm so glad to see you my dear professor !

I thought I'd better come

I thought I'd better come back for another latin lesson :).

No!!! Pleeeeeze!!! I was only joking!!! :).

I just said "less frequently". For a few days I can quickly check once or twice a day. I don't want to miss the finish of the Einstein result. Let us know if Seti starts up again on a new WU.

Oh, No, I've just checked and I see that you already have your new Seti WU!!! It was downloaded about 20 minutes ago it seems. Has it actually started to crunch yet?

Well at least BOINC is working exactly the way it should and all is very good. It means that BOINC is happy that your EAH result doesn't have a deadline problem.

Cheers,
Gary.

Hello dear Gary , yes very true I have my new Seti WU and it started to crunch beautifuly with a Progress of 15.15%, CPU time :00:47:29 and to completion :04:29:23 .

EAH is preempted with a Progress of 67.09% .....

Oh sorry , just now Seti is preemted and EAH is running with a Progress of
67.12 % , CPU time 66:19:16 and to completion 32:28:19

As you said, apparently everything is OK

- Here : 5:24 pm

Cheers

Yes, BOINC has settled into a

Yes, BOINC has settled into a normal pattern of switching regularly between the two projects.

Don't be fooled by the rapid initial progress of Seti. This will slow down considerably over the coming hours. By the time its progress reaches 35% you will find that the total of cpu time and estimated time to finish will probably end up being much the same as last time, around 30 hours. At the moment it's indicating just over 11 hours but that will blow out considerably.

It would be interesting to know how many other dedicated users there are out there who are lurking on these boards and who have a machine that takes around 100 hours to do an EAH unit. You could start a thread in "Crunchers Corner" and call it "The 100 hour or more Club" or something of your own choice that you felt was appropriate. The purpose of your thread would be to publish the final statistics (including computer details) of your first result when it completes and to invite others to submit similar information for their slowest boxes. You could make a stipulation that you only wanted to see the details for computers that were around the same slow speed as yours or even slower. I think you might be surprised to see how many slow old clunkers there are out there :). You need to make that stipulation or else you might be flooded with people just wanting to "show off" how good their fast machines are.

Cheers,
Gary.

Thank you dear Gary,
Surely i will start a thread in "Crunchers Corner" with the title you suggested me , so i would be able to see more clearly all this story of crunching and hours and would get more information about this schedule. I'm so happy with this experience of Crunching. I owe all of this to you and all your accurate directives and instructions .

Cheers

How's the score going? The EAH result must be getting close to 85% by now I guess. Perhaps a bit more than another full day to go. Getting close :).

Cheers,
Gary.
