There is a company here that does that as well. I've not looked into it but my neighbor did. I went with a company that my friend used and it's been pretty good so far. Of course, I didn't have as many computers last year so I wish I had put more panels up (that presents it's own problem, where to put them, lol)
My cousin lives in California, USA and worked thru his power company to fill his roof with solar panels, he now enjoys some money free days as he generates more power than he uses. Of course when it rains etc he does have a power bill to pay, and without a battery backup system he's dependent on the power company to provide him the power on those days, but he says overall his power bill has dropped more than 50% because of the panels. He didn't tell me how much the panels cost, other than 'alot', nor how long his payback period will be.
Depending on the company, make of the panel, efficiency of the panels, total area to be installed, rebates if available and the type of roof the cost can be anywhere between 40 thousand to 60 thousand. Payback is something like 12-16 years I think. There is a lot of variability in there.

hehe... Thanks, It probably would be if I hadn't install all those solar panels last year. Even with those, it's still up there, but not as bad as it was in the middle of summer last year.
My power company will let me buy some solar panels that they install at one of their solar farms and they maintain and use them as they see fit, all the while giving me a credit on my bill for the next 10 years for each one I buy. That way I front them the money and they pay me back, plus interest, over the next 10 years.
Wow that would be nice, esp for those that live in HOAs, lower level condos, small roofs, wooded areas, etc. I live in a HOA townhouse style condo so there is little roof space and I'm not sure I would be able to add polar panels anyway. Teslas solar roof might be a stretch even. That's a nice alternative by the power company.

Yes I thought so too, they do have a State mandate that they can't generate more than 10% of the previous years total power usage they solar panels every year, but since more and more people are coming to NC that isn't a problem at the moment. The idea is to not put the coal etc companies out of business right now today.
