I'm having trouble merging two hosts- http://einsteinathome.org/host/608858 and http://einsteinathome.org/host/981296 . While selecting either one and clicking "Merge", the other host doesn't show up in Mergable Hosts. From what I've read in another post (http://einsteinathome.org/node/192392&nowrap=true#63814 ), "Once all tasks associated with the old host have been removed from the database you will be able to delete it."
Am I missing something?

Merging two Hosts
)
Yes. You cannot merge hosts (even if they are the same physical host) if the description listed under "CPU Type" on the computer summary pages (on the website) are different. More recent versions of BOINC have a much expanded description than older versions. I'm guessing that your old host ID would have had an older version of BOINC installed. Check the two summary pages and look to see if the descriptions are different.
You basically have two options, the simple option and the bloody-minded option :).
The simple option is to delete your old host ID and move on.
The other option is to downgrade the version of BOINC on your current machine to the version that was installed at the time your machine had its old host ID. You should then be able to merge the two hosts. After the merge is complete you can then upgrade BOINC again.
Please realise that the above comments are just a summary of the steps to be taken. You would have to approach the task with a bit of care and close attention otherwise you could stuff things up. The only possible gain from doing this is that your current host ID would then show the combined credit totals of both hosts. It wont affect your total credit (currently 5,284) just your individual host credits. As your old host had such a low amount of credit it seems hardly worth the effort and risk.
Cheers,
Gary.
