FLOPS

What´s the reason for this sawtooth like behaviour of the FLOPS over the day, as shown in the graphical display from the Server Status Page. The curve lowers close to midnight UMTC and inceases during the day. But this reset at midnight doesn´t take place at all time at once. Sometimes one sees a step in between.
