I have been working with the AMD R9-290x for a few weeks now. I found that this card works well with the FGRP3 GPU application.
The 7970 can run a maximum of four tasks with a GPU utilization factor of 0.25. Any additional tasks beyond four would result in intermittent task failure with memory allocation errors.
The R9-290x can run six tasks and possibly more with a GPU utilization factor of 0.16. I run six tasks since each task can use nearly a full core and my CPU has six cores. I checked tasks completed on two days and 96 tasks were completed on one day and 102 tasks completed on the following day.

For BRP5 Search, I found the 7970 does have faster runtime than the R9-290x while running three tasks. The difference is not very significant but the R9-290x is slower. I am not quite sure why this is as the R9-290x has a significantly higher FP32 GFLOPS rating than the 7970. I tested both cards independently with the same system configuration including OS and driver.
With running a single task of GW Search, the two cards have near identical run time.
The other projects I tested with were Seti Astropulse and Folding@Home. With Astropulse, performance is similar with a slight edge to the 7970. The R9-290x is significantly faster than the 7970 with the Folding GPU application.

You received the tasks, didn't complete them before deadline, the tasks have been sent to someone else's host, they've completed the task, your wingmens results have then been validated, and the task, and results have been purged from the Boinc database.

What I am asking is, why are both task not listed in the current task late or listed as currently finished and reported. I just wanted to know if this last running task is not needed or currently needs to be trashed for computer #11629291.

You received the tasks, didn't complete them before deadline, the tasks have been sent to someone else's host, they've completed the task, your wingmens results have then been validated, and the task, and results have been purged from the Boinc database.
