Thank you guys so much for

Thank you guys so much for the feedback!

When I suspend too many tasks, my PC downloads new ones, but I can fix that by telling my projects to not download new tasks. I'll try suspending all but the problem task and see what happens. If issues continue, I'll post here again.

Thanks again! :)

doh...i knew i forgot something! typically a project won't download new tasks if you've suspended any of that project's tasks in your queue. but if you're attached to a certain project and don't currently have any of that project's work in your queue, suspending all other tasks in the queue will usually invoke a scheduler request from that project's server to get new work (unless of course that project is set to "no new tasks," which you've already figured out).

A different problem connected

A different problem connected to this application....
On this machine, the estimated time for completion of each of 11 downloaded tasks is 7:14:56. Yesterday I killed a run that had reached 64+ hours, and the one that then started has clocked up 20:43:45 already. Normally the estimates are reasonably accurate. Should I be worried?

For some reason, BOINC

For some reason, BOINC process is getting very little cpu time, so it's not surprising that elapsed time is so high. A bit more digging is required.....

The BOINC process isn't doing

The BOINC process isn't doing any scientific calculations. You'll have to check the project application.

My Intel i5 computer running

My Intel i5 computer running Windows 7 often, but not always, gets computation errors on the Gravitational S6CasA tasks after running a few minutes. Also, often, but not always, the hsgamma_FGRP3 tasks end with error after about 12 seconds. I have an i3 computer running Windows 7 (but an older release of Boinc) that has no such problems. On the problematic i5 computer, I had the same problems as now on that older release of Boinc. I have tried "Reset Project" for Einstein@home, it downloads many files but the problems remain.

Excerpts for the log :

The error on Gravitational

The error on Gravitational S6CasA tasks are:
(unknown error) - exit code -1 (0xffffffff)
and
2014-02-12 08:35:22.6244 (5216) [CRITICAL]: Required frequency-bins [894642, 894657] not covered by SFT-interval [1487524, 1489049]

Are you using a program to monitor the temperature of you computer? If so what is it? If not download something like CoreTemp or Speedfan and the post the temps here.
If the temps are in check the I would run Memtest on the machine to check that the RAM is ok. After that I would run checkdisk on the harddrive to check for errors there.

The errors on hsgamma_FGRP3 are:
The network name cannot be found.
(0x43) - exit code 67 (0x43)
and
read_checkpoint(): Skypoints length in checkpoint mismatch: checkpoint: 220 / program: 101
08:30:02 (7988): [CRITICAL]: ERROR: MAIN() returned with error '3'

Same advice there, first check the CPU temp then RAM integrity and then HDD integrity.

About a year ago I had

About a year ago I had similar problems with one of my pc's. I xchanged parts between systems and found that the motherboard war faulty.
The board was laying around here since then. Three weeks ago I got a cpu that fits into the socket, so I gave it a 'last chance'.
First thing I did was I checked for bios updates. 3 new bios versions were available, all of them had in the changelog 'increased system stability'
The system is now crunching again, it's current name is Tom.
So if you have the feeling that the hardware is the source of troubles check first for bios updates; it might save you money.

Nothing. You just need to

Nothing. You just need to read the technical news:

Gravitational Wave search (S6CasA) suspended (27 February 2014)
