Do the positions and type of pulsars indicate the age of particular regions of the galaxy? Are there distributions of these patterns where types of pulsars being found fall into some kind of stellar map which shows which arms of the galaxy have different composition variation or age?
Or is the pulsar distribution like radioactivity halflife where you know the phenomenon but can't predict individual atoms but the larger sample tells the picture?
I wonder if the new found pulsars fit into any predictive model of how many incidents should be found and the type of pulsar.
