I dispatch taxicabs at night in Nashville, Tennessee. In other words, I'm the guy that tells folks their "cab is on the way" when they're so drunk they don't even know where they're at, much less where they're going. It's a slice of life that you can't get any other way. It's fun, sort of like a party, but the blast is a vicarious experience. It's a high without the hangover - I'm swimming in the social stream, but instead of fearing jail, I'm getting paid for the priviledge.
I have a laymans interest in physics, and I contribute to furthering the science by paying taxes, running BOINC and buying books written for people at my level.
