Connection problem

Problem: Today I have gotten two messages from the BOINC manager in the system tray about being unable to connect. (Sorry I don't have the exact text.)

Problem: And today (to try to understand the problem, didn't try this before), in the BOINC Manager when I hit F1 or select Help / BOINC website I get: "Network Error (tcp_error) / A communication error occurred: 'Operation timed out'"

Background: Yet I am able to hit Update on my Einstein project and get the response message "Scheduler request succeeded". The BOINC server statuses are all green. I'm on the computer every day and always run the BOINC manager (5.4.11) first thing. My stats show 44,000 credits with daily progress on Einstein S5R3 4.26. In the tasks tab time and progress are being updated.

My system is a 3 gHz P4 HT with XP Pro SP2 (BOINC has all of one core). It's on a LAN with a satellite modem.

In the Options dialog / Connections is listed only my backup dialup ISP - not as default.

Question: What are these error messages about?
