Up until a few days ago when I downloaded the latest version of BOINC everything was fine. I'm running both Einstein@home and SETI@home, with Einstein using 67% of resources and Seti 33%. I usually had 4 Einstein and 3 Seti work units listed under the WORK tab. Downloads were frequent keeping my computer with work always. Then without changing any settings, but upgrading the BOINC client I now uaually have only 2 Seti and 1 Einstein work units listed under the WORK tab, and constantly see in the message file that 0 work units are requested for Einstein because my computer is overcommitted. What is going on here? And what should I do to return to the former behavior of Einstein@home? Thanking you in advance.

Just have patience. Don't go changing anything in your settings, but wait it out. In a couple of days, you'll see that things return to more normal conditions.
What you're seeing is the use of the new scheduler finding out what it has to do with the long term debt for both the projects you are attached to. Your Boinc is at the moment a bit confused, but I promise you that everything will work out. It took my computer to straighten out within 3 days. Just don't change anything.

The people who have had the most problems with the later generation of the BOINC Client Software have been mostly self-inflicted.
I am running 4.45 on just about all my machines and have seen basically no problems at all. But if you try to "force" it to be like the old versions, well, it will never settle in. Allowing it time to "balance" the work and get the internal accounts correct will, generally, cause it to work just about like you expect.
On my PowerMac I am running 4.43 one of the supposed worst behaved versions and I have work from all three attached projects. To the tune of 5 Days (by estimates) worth of work. If truth were told, it is closer to 3 days work, but what do I know ... the funny thing is that my buffer size is 3 days ... :)
Oh, and there is a fix for the buffer size problem in one of the versions past 4.45 ...

Yup :) Just for fun I tried to see if I could make it run like older versions - but it basically made things "worse". But waiting it out resolved everything (ok, not quite but close - the effects of the better scheduler is showing)

Version 4.70 is the first that has the fix for the buffer size. Currently in Alpha testing.
