Wow, I just noticed 4 client detatched errors listed where both me and the other person crunching the workunit have them listed. However, I'm still crunching those workunits and I've already uploaded and reported one of them. Here they are:

http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/45794556
http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/45790510
http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/45805046

Is anyone else having this problem?? Until this issue is resolved I'm going to stick my computers on the primegrid challenge instead.

edit: and it looks like it's getting ready to happen again: http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/45998823

I am having the same problem and it's really pissing me off. I've had to re-attach to Einstein 3 times in 2 days. I have 2 full pages of wu's detached. I did nothing to detach!

Why is Einstein detaching

Why is Einstein detaching from my BOINC manager when I am doing nothing? 3 times in 2 days is ridiculous! 2 pages of wu's with client detached errors....bull!!!
This is happening all by itself. If this continues then I will say goodbye to this farce and crunch elsewhere.

No task is being aborted. Problem seems to be on your side since I have no problems on the other 4 projects I am crunching.

Her latest task has a Breakpoint Encountered (0x80000003) error now as well though, so AV could also be a possible cause, (especially if it's Norton), from what I believe I've seen in another thread.

Where is the proof that Norton is the cause of or associated with 0x80000003 errors? I do not know if a causal relationship exists, but if it doesn't you are perpetuating already too common myths that Norton is an inferior product. I personally have not experienced any problems with any version of NIS on Windows. I recently experienced this particular error but a simple reboot of windows and restart of BOINC solved the problem.

The thread I was refering to is here. I wasn't trying to perpetuate anything (sorry if it came off that way), I was relaying what I had read here on Einstein, that pertained to changes noticed in the program, that could affect BM. I've used Norton for years, and just happen to use McAfee at the moment. IMO, both will protect your pc.

I have heard that happens when you attach to a project manager (eg. BAM) in addition to attaching to project(s) via BOINC manager's attach project wizard. In your case, you would have attached to your other 4 projects through a project manager then attached to Einstein via BOINC manager's project wizard. The project managers are "jealous". If they find a project on your computer that is not attached via the project manager then it will detach that project. So... if you've used a project manager in the past then you need to attach Einstein via that same project manager.

That's called an account manager.

My brain was telling my fingers that was the wrong word but they just wouldn't listen :<(
