That's a serious amount of coffee there Bill and a decent glass of chilled dihydrogen monoxide too. But I see dawn's early light in the background so you're evidently in boot-up phase. :-)

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Well done on the 10 million too. :-)

Speaking of chemical names. Did any of you hear about the uproar down in I believe it was Florida? I guess some radio station spoofed a chemical spill and reported there had been a large spill of "dihydrogen monoxide" and scared a lot of people.

Sad state of affairs for our education system :-)

And the general level of gullibility ... thus such faux-science/synthetic-news mobs make a killing on revenue with increased ratings. Scare for profit. Why anyone believes news outlets these days is beyond me. But it is an ancient issue - the triumph of intuition over analysis - the Romans for instance used to have a 'town crier' ( I forget the correct title ) who spouted BS from whomsoever paid enough. Including say news from the war front about 'tactical retreats' and whatnot. You can have propaganda outside of wars .....

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) That spoof was obvious, but there are many stories like that but just not obviously false. Indeed the best lies are nearly true ....

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

@MAGIC When I need something I can't reach... I don't ask browsing giraffes for assistance - I scale the shelves myself, thank you. I admit clambering is a bit challenging at the moment... *level detached gaze at MAGIC'S knees* ... but being medically allowed a walking weapon I now just swat at stuff and see what survived the fall into my trolley...

:)

Well Queen Ann-iet I didn't put you in that group of the short females on my shopping trips because they are always 10 years older than me or more.....and ....well we all know a Queen has employees taking care of what is on her shopping list

I actually have a collection of those "walking weapons" but I leave them at home because I am not ready to let the public know that I actually wore out my bones 15 years ago (I proved that decades of weightlifting and basketball playing does not a long lasting young body make)

So far I can still use my 6ft 5in body with the 2 foot beard and my 270lbs still put the fear in the fellow shoppers (ok I don't actually smoke)

But hey maybe our old relatives of the distant past were neighbors since my Dads side of the family came over to the New World aka Virginia after hundreds of years SW of London (I have traced back to the early 13th Century)

Well congrats on the 10 million Bill and I bet you like the new BRP6 v1.52 tasks (my GeForce 560Ti sure does) but your 2-core with not much Ram sure can leave mine in the dust with that GPU you have.....the more I see those cards do that the more I think I may have to try something that doesn't say *GeForce* on it

How old is your HP laptop?
I have a Asus latop that works great since I added Ram and a SSD but after my first battery gave up on me after a year and I checked the price of those things mine has been running 24/7 plugged into the AC outlet so it has never left my kingdom.

I am an HP guy and all 5 of my desktops are HP but I couldn't find a laptop when I got mine for the same price with the 8-core and 8GB ram and a GPU card that has enough to run a couple GPU BRP's here so I got the Asus and it will have 3 years running 24/7 in June.

Do you run on the battery at the cafe or do they let you borrow the AC and the internet connection??

Of course the restaurant I go to doesn't have any internet so as far as leaving home with mine I would just want to bring it with me if I ever make the long drive on Route 66 that I keep dreaming of (and yeah I still watch that old tv show every week)........I would HAVE to have a computer with me so I could check on my desktops while I am gone and I am not a cell phone user (I'll leave that to the wife)

And Dr. Mike I just found something for you since you have me thinking of things like that

Howdy Samson,
I have Two HP Elitebooks - One of them is Old and has a Core - 2 cpu (It has a VISTA sticker on it ) LOL
I got that one refurbished from Newegg in 2012. It still works fine and they installed Win 7 on it during the refurb.

My other Elitebook I bought on Ebay in 2013 - it has a 3rd gen i5 (ivy bridge) cpu - I put that one to work crunching on Einstein awhile ago.

They have a WiFi connection - I try to sit near an AC outlet in case needed : )
I also have a T-Mobile WiFi Hotspot. It's one of those (Pay as you go ) types
I can buy as much or as little Data as I need.
I use that if I'm doing any online banking or, want to be more secure.

My phone has hotspot capability, and it's included in my data plan, so I make frequent use of it (and still don't use even half my plan data). I have an inverter in my car to take care of powering the computer. (Not the most efficient way of doing it, but easier than a cord that converts 12VDC directly to 19VDC or whatever it is the computer uses.)

I beat you on the not caring. I must say you're zooming right along, though. At this rate, you might get to 11 before I get to 10.
