Pictures....mhm, good idea. :)

A few months ago I tried to make art...

That was the result...mhm, just somethink not usefull...

Skewed AND overlapping pixel art! I like it :) I liked the number stuff too :) Although *perplexed brow* finding smaller and smaller particles doesn't half make things more complicated...

It's an Antonov : the picture

It's an Antonov : the picture is from Lord of War with Nick Cage et al. It's the scene where they are forced to land their stuffed-to-ribbing-with-AK47s plane after being shot at in Africa and asked to land. Nick's mate in the military fails to have the dog's called off so they just land on a road somewhere. Nick gives all the guns away before the Feds turn up. The plane is later stripped to nothing ( time lapse shot ) while Nick spends a night handcuffed nearby.

@Bill : there's a local guy who does Mad Max lookalike cars. Alas most of the original '72 Ford Falcons are taken so he does Fairmonts and mods with molding. Usually the blowers are faked, you just hit a switch and the belt goes around but no actual supercharging.

@Aurel : Don't you just love the old time math nerds. They just have an idea, can't be bothered to (dis)prove it - margins too small type of crap - and leave this mortal coil with a torture for future generations. The only fame I'm likely to get for failing to decide something is appearing in court listings. As for 70's hair styles : I think they are the original HeadCrabs :

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Score:

Here is a page with a few stills from the movie, grouped by aircraft shown.

Lord of War aircraft stills

The second one down in the AN-12 section gives you a view of the tail gunner installations. Looks like the cannon are long gone, but you can see glazing for the gunner's benefit, and the turret where the cannon used to live.

and a couple of youtube clips:

The landing scene (which, by the way, is wildly unrealistic in multiple ways)
LoW AN-12 landing

The time-lapse airplane dismantlement:

LoW AN-12 stripping

Warning--the subtitles in the landing scene contain a few not kid-friendly expletives, which may or may not be accurate translations of what may or may not be spoken Russian.

Warning--the youtube links may display ads before the actual scene.

@Julie - avatar showing now

@Julie - avatar showing now :-)

@Annie - not ruder just a different slant on things. Mike as a moderator has quite an appealing off the wall attitude compared to some mods at the "other place". Of course if we were in the Palace of Westminster that would refer to the House of Lords, but maybe "House of cards" is more appropriate.

You might very well think so, but I couldn't possibly comment.

@Bill should we not be an RMS Einstein as we carry posts?

Waiting for Godot & salvation :-)
