After years of running boinc 5.3.12.tx36 on Linux without any problem, it crashed this night for two times.
Just for the records: This is the timestamp I installed boinc 5.3.12.tx36.2006-03-27 16:08:30 [---] Starting BOINC client version 5.3.12.tx36 for i686-pc-linux-gnu

In both cases it crashed just after uploading a file somewhere deep in the printf-family. And between these two crashes there was no other upload.
And no, of course I did not change anything ;^)
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Boinc suddenly crashing?
)
i got similar (client error @ download) on one machine ...

some results are good, some arent ... its since the latest run and "segmentation" sound like a splitter/merger problem to me ...

BOINC crash with SIGSEGV.
I have this problem from 28.3.2010. Now this is on 3 machines, where Einstein works.

Your BOINC-Client is outdated. ;)
Problem is with application :
)
Problem is with application : Global Correlations S5 Engineering : einstein_S5GCE_1.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu
I can try disable this application from Einstein@Home preferences but checkbox is disabled. Why?
I will disable Einsteind until this problem will not resolve.

Your computers are hidden, so we can't give any advice.
And the reason that you can't uncheck the GW app is simply that the money the project gets, is for the GW-search - the main project.

I crunch many years. Problem

I crunch many years.
Problem is with application einstein_S5GCE_1.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu only. Others Einstein applications working OK.

RE: Computer 648959 : Last

Your BOINC client is rather old. I am using 6.6.41 on SuSE Linux 11.1 32 bit and I get no errors on six projects.

2010-03-30 20:32:56.9242 (7629) [CRITICAL]: Failed to open 'skygrid_0270Hz_S5GC.dat' for reading: 2: No such file or directory
2010-03-30 20:32:56.9243 (7629) [debug]: ERROR: Couldn't open 'skygrid_0270Hz_S5GC.dat'
This looks like the reason for the crash. If it was a Windows box, I would think a virus scanner might have caused this. ;)
And as Tullio said, your client is (too) old. As soon as there are changes with the boinc server code, the communication might fail, as these programs belong together. You can not expect that they will always be compatible, if the server code evolves.

You can see on file
)
You can see on file http://tygr.czu.cz/crash.zip
einstein_S5GCE_1.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu finish compute WU and crash boinc core.
who delete file I dont know - boinc core or einstein_S5GCE_1.04_i686-pc-linux-gnu. I see this problem on more Linux comps then it isn't virus problem or local machine problem.
1.02 finish OK, boinc continue and report result. 1.04 kill boinc core and result is miss.
I have no errors with all computers and all projects. Only one 1.04 application from einstein have problem.
