The problem seems to be your boinc-version 6.6.36. You have to choices, first update to a newer version like 6.6.38 or downgrade to 6.4.X. Version 6.10.X would be no solution because there are many problems solved but new troubles comes to the boinc-arena.

I'd stay away from 6.6.38, I had some major issues with it where the manager would lose its connection to the client, and messages would keep popping up so fast it made it almost impossible to shut down.

The absolute latest version would be 6.10.1, which presumably has some nice fixes over 6.10.0, so if you want to take the plunge: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/?C=M;O=D

RE: A new Einstein@home

A new Einstein@home ABP1 App for Windows is available for Beta Test at Beta Test Page.

This is a big package to download, as it contains the 3.09 ABP1 application as well as the current 3.05 S5R5.

The new ABP1 App should mainly benefit from using SSE in the FFTw (and some other parts). I'd be curious if there are still machines out there without SSE and how they'd react on this App (the FFTW doku is somewhat ambiguous at that point).

app_info.xml does contain entries for ABP1 3.07, 3.08 and 3.09 and S5R5 3.05, tasks assigned to older apps will error out.

Please test and report.

6.6.36 is a bug with known problems. Try 6.10.1 or an older like 6.4.7 but some cruncher reported success with 6.6.28 too.

During your absence, my Celeron 400 MMX has completed (and now reported) task 136524989 in 313,734 seconds. Looks OK so far: just have to wait - no we won't, it's validated already.

This box has crunched ABP1 before: whichever application was current on 9 Apr 2009 took 314,145 seconds - message 96421 - so you can claim this one has speeded up by almost 7 minutes! I'll try and run some more to see what the variation is.

Now completed (and validated) task 136793259 in 309,594 seconds - it's getting faster!

During this run, I suffered a fan failure and some unexpected shutdowns - presumably overheating. Interesting that the stderr_txt shows no sign of the restarts. It's probably not worth replacing the fan: after 10 full years of crunching SETI classic and BOINC, it's time to give the old girl a well-earned retirement. But I'll keep her in the musem in case you need another test.....

Wow, I thought my Dell was slow in taking about 95,000 seconds on average for an ABP1 task. Unfortunately, after I installed the Beta on it, I've only been getting S5 tasks (sigh). Since it is my slowest E@H cruncher, I had only put the beta on it so far.

I'm about to leave on a weeks

I'm about to leave on a weeks vacation so won't be able to follow up past tomorrow morning, but my A64x2 4200PC is crashing all ABP WUs immediately with 3.09. IF it matters it's old enough to still be running 5.8.11 (no reason other than my not having gotten around to ugprading since it's an essentially unattended system)

The two client errors reported with exit status -1 are S5R5 ones, not ABP1. The ABP1 reported 'input file missing or invalid', which is a report from the client, not the App. Yes, the BOINC Client is too od to report the faulty file's name. Looks like something wrong with the downloaded archive?

I used the same zip file to install 3.09 on my other computers. 2 of them are running ABPs without error, my netbook has been doing s5r5's since.
