My name is Matt and I'm a late 50's communications technician from Rhode Island. My hobbies include, amateur radio, computers (obviously), photography, and astronomy. I am a member of the Rhode Island Astronomical Society, also known as Skyscrapers. My profile picture shows me at the eyepiece of the Society's centerpiece instrument, an Alvan Clark 8" refractor using a weight driven tracking drive.
As a communications technician, I often come across surplus computer equipment slated for the dumpster. I currently am running one box, an HP DL360G6 Server 2 Xeon 5650 processors running at 2.67GHz, and a GE-FORCE GT 1030 GPU. This machine's primary purpose is to crunch numbers for BONIC projects, currently 2. It runs my flight simulator WX server as a secondary function.
