I was born in Michigan in 1946, grew up in Tucson Az., spent my working life in Silicon Valley, moved to a small farming town in Iowa in 2004. I worked for a Data Loss Protection company until retirement in 2014. Hunted for a year then in the summer of 2015 moved to five acres out in farming country and started my Ham Radio antenna farm.
I am a Ham Radio operator (NG0G) first licensed in 1979. I home brew my own beer. My favourite is a pre Prohibition Stock ale. Hops is the word. I love well made, coffee. I enjoy Bluegrass music, and listening to baseball games on the radio. And I have a passion for Dirt Track Auto racing. "If you don't have a little dirt in your beer, you are at the wrong track" I am also very interested in Astronomy, and Physics.
Back in the 60's, while in the U.S. Navy I was a Radioman on a Fast Attack nuclear Submarine. I lived in the U.S.S Haddock SSN-621 for about two and a half years.
I am happily married to a wonderful woman of Irish descent named Glenna. And I have two grown children, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and an 18 year old Lhasa Apso named Amy, that thinks I am her Dad or another dog, or both. (Sadly Amy, a great dog for 18.5 years, went to Dog heaven in January of 2010)
I think Einstein@home is a great idea. I have been running seti@home since 2003 and am sorry I did not find Einstein@home sooner. With seti@home going into hibernation or what ever they are doing, I have moved the two that i had running seti@home over to einstein@home. So I have nine computers of various vintages just dedicated to Einstein@home. With the improved LIGO it is my hope that we will answer some questions and discover more.
