Nothing much to say at the moment. Yesterday (03.09.2012) I just made the profile for SETI@home. In such or another way those 2 projects have a lot in common and so are also my reasons for participating in both. The major difference is, that I've been active in SETI volunteering almost from its beginnings, meaning, before it officially became an integral part of BOINC. That is now maybe more than a decade ago, I really do not remember any-more.
So if you are interested more into my personal background, you can look for my profile there. It is under the name Seeker2000 (I really don't know, why I have chosen my real name for this project, because also in all the other projects I am (was) involved it, I use this nickname).
Beside the 2 projects mentioned above, I'm also participating in WCG and occasionally in GPUGRID, which both 'compute' for various reasons (advancements) in the field of biology and medicine.
Personally I was very enthusiastic for the new T4T project, but in spite of hundreds of hours of work invested, with VERY much help from scientists behind it, it came to the stage, that we could not find the answer or reason why the project simply does not run any-more on my PC. It may sound silly, but I was in a way 'honoured' to be able to participate in CERN simulations. So the end of it for me, was quite demoralising...
But usually if one 'door' closes another opens and it just may be, that because of the failure there, I became more active here.
Anyway, you noticed, I tend to speak to much, but if you are interested, you can always check my (amateur) web-site:
I've already taken too much space with my writing, so I'll be brief and repeat, what I've said before, check my profile in the SETI@home project.
