It doesn't show in Chrome on Linux either.  Chrome settings already allow all sites to show images.

But Chrome has gotten to be a real stickler for not allowing cross-site manipulation like your internally hosted image linked to from einstein.org.  Won't allow it now.  Much older versions would have had no issues.

Yeah the image thing is a real issue these days. I assume having such a feature in a browser is to save downloads for the dial up 56K users ?

Anyway I'm not out of the woods with the Nvidia drivers it seems, some more WUs in ( compute ) error after a few seconds like so ( my emphasis ) :

ie. the gamma WUs now ( FGRPB1G ), plus there are some more in error for GW WUs just as before. How curious for it to not find the GPU yet to still know that it was an Nvidia. But none are yet in error ( out of 26 units ) for the latest gamma search : Gamma-ray pulsar search #5 ( FGRP5).

{ It's unlikely to be a memory issue as there's 12GB to play with on the RTX 3060 card, while the WUs report a max of about 900 MB usage. Plus these errors have occurred when the machine is unattended and not running any games. }

Soooo ..... continuing with the hypothesis that it is an NVidia driver issue, I think I will yet again revert the driver to that which came with the original Pop!_OS flatpak on first install in mid-June ( that being 470.103.01 ).

If anyone has a similar problem, please advise.

Cheers, Mike.

I had to allow unsecure content, or what it's called in English, before the image would show.

Yes, both Chrome and Firefox default to only allowing https connections.  They both also restrict 3rd party links or popups or cookies.

Mike, I think you are in a

Mike, I think you are in a Catch-22 situation.  You can't revert to the 470 series driver as they won't recognize the new 12GB 3060 card which has a PCIE Device ID of #2571.

At least I don't think so. The ID it shows as

GA106 [RTX A2000 12GB]

But I can't select that version of card from the Nvidia driver list. It keeps coming up with 510 or 515 series drivers as compatible.

I think that card needs the 510 series at minimum.

But give the old 470.129 series drivers a shot anyway.

The 3060 is supported all the way back to the 460 branch. 470 will work fine.

Yeah, I now remember this issue I have seen before. The problem is that my domain mikehewson.id.au uses a certificate ( granted by the hosting company iinet ) that is not trusted, and hence I can't supply content under https.

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Yeah, the error under Firefox is "downloads.mikehewson.id.au uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed." Ouch ... Bad Panda.

( edit ) Looks like I can buy a certificate for the domain, setup SSL etc, but I'll have to speak to someone first.

there is no "new" 12GB version of the 3060. it was always 12GB from launch. there is no other version.

the 3080 is the one that got the newer 12GB version after the initial 10GB version.

Well I am very confused

Well I am very confused then.  That is not what the Nvidia documents showed.  So the 3060 with 12GB launched AFTER the 3060 Ti with 8GB.
