Hoelderlin posted a brief news article on betterhumans.com about the Rosetta@Home project, quoting from the new "Disease Related Research" page.
If many of you click on the Rosetta@Home news item, it will make it to the "Top News" section and stay visible on the main page for longer. Something like 700 clicks are required for the top position. The number of page views is visible at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for sharing the information.
Some technical remarks. Someone at SETI pointed out that reloading does the job. This can be misused, very easy. Just run wget in a tight loop....
I personally think that the "number of views" should only be updated, if the user is logged in and recorded only once, like +/-.
Is there a "Top News" section? From my experience the number of views does
not have any effect on where the post is located. Better recommend the use of
+/- instead. But I might be wrong and it is LATE evening here....

The one thing that I still think is lacking in the BOINC Community is some mechanism to help new participants get to be multi-project. I am still not super comfortable with the selection of projects in that the spectrum is still pretty limited. I do agree that it is light years ahead of where it was when I started in the BOINC Beta ... :)
But, still, we have that intrenched view-point that I only want to run one project and now I can't get work ... which misses the whole point ...
Well, anyway, more to read about other projects ...
