are you certain that the crashes are entirely OS related? maybe a faulty part of hardware, like memory or some overclocking setting (if you're OCing anything). removing boinc and crashing stops isnt necessarily a smoking gun since BOINC projects is putting stress on the system. try running some stress testing without boinc, do you get the same crashing? if so, you may have some hardware issue.
what is the nature of "hard crash"? as that term can be a little vague and mean something different to everyone. does the system freeze? hang? reboot? blue screen? what is the more specific behavior that you're experiencing?
are you able to downgrade this system to Windows 10?
Haven't tried fumark. Right now I'm running GPU WUs only... so far so good
That leads to the question of are you running only 87.5% of your available CPU threads (14 of 16)? If your CPU load exceeds 85% (roughly) in the Windows task manager usually some CPU processing slows down. Maybe that has become a crash and burn instead in your case?

Yeah, my favorite supplier has been discounting, sometimes quite heavily, the 3000 series for the last few weeks. It seems the market may have ( finally ) turned.
