Animated movie about neutron stars, pulsars, and continuous gravitational waves

December 02, 2021

Join us on a journey into the depths of our Galaxy with an animated movie about neutron stars, pulsars, and continuous gravitational waves! This new video was created by Dr. M.A. Papa's research group that deploys the Einstein@Home gravitational wave searches. It will take you through our Galaxy to a very special type of star: a neutron star.

The lucky ones!

Whenever Einstein@Home finds a new neutron star, there is always one workunit in which that discovery "stands out" from the noise with the highest statistical significance.  The volunteers whose computers processed that workunit receive framed discovery certificates, signed by myself and by the Principal Investigator of the experiment/collaboration that provided the data.  Over the past decade, we have sent out more than a hundred of these, and we are now preparing a new batch.   If you are interested, here is

14 new Einstein@Home pulsar discoveries in Fermi-LAT data

June 15, 2021

Congratulations to all Einstein@Home volunteers, whose computers have found 14 new pulsars in data from the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board the Fermi gamma-ray satellite.  These new pulsars are listed on the FGRP discoveries webpage, along with the names of the volunteers whose computers identified the new systems with the highest significance.  In total, Einstein@Home has now found 39 new gamma-ray pulsars in Fermi LAT data.
