unfortunately the CUDA application doesn't work for me too. But maybe the information could be useful for debugging.
When I start the BOINC manager it starts working on an ABP unit but stops after 4 seconds.

My system:
Ubuntu 9.04 x86_64 with 2.6.28-14 generic kernel
AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300

I updated my Nvidia driver to version 185.18.14 with no success. The behavior is exact the same like before, except that I don't get any error messages on the console when starting BOINC via ./run_manager.

All drivers are available through the Advanced Driver Search page (Beta and Archived drivers). The exact version numbers may not match across all cards/OSs/versions, but you should be able to find one with the nearest matching release date.
