Topic 194152

Since Jan 14, 2009, all the WUs from this project seems to fail when being processed in my computer.

My computer:
http://einsteinathome.org/host/528415

This is the last WU which finished successfully on my computer:
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114350627

All other WUs since then gave a "Client error" outcome:
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114500764
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114513840
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114557231
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114571429
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114575090
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114575096
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114595154
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114595160
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114599940
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114599948
http://einsteinathome.org/task/114602499
and there quite a few more...
the last one:
http://einsteinathome.org/task/115008537

All those WUs give this:
CPU time 0
stderr out

6.4.5

- exit code -1 (0xffffffff)

]]>

Validate state Invalid

Since the last valid WU was also ran in BOINC version 6.4.5, I'm guessing the problem is not with BOINC.

I've also noticed that most WUs finish up successfully by other users (except this one: http://einsteinathome.org/workunit/46992803). It seems the problem is with my computer, but I also run 3 other projects, and they all finish WUs successfully.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you,
Shai

You're getting exit code -1. BOINC FAQ Service: Einstein - Exit codes -1,0,1 might give some insight.

I read the information about

Message 90198 in response to message 90197

I read the information about the exit codes before I posted here, but it still doesn't help me - it only means something is not allowing the application to run. I didn't change anything, and everything worked just fine up to that point, and other projects work fine even now, so there must have been some sort of change in the application. I will check the setting of my antivirus (Avira) and Firewall (COMODO), and see if they somehow block the Einstein@Home application.
If it helps, I'll post here.

Thank you.

There has been a change: a new application executable was released. So, checking your antivirus program and firewall is indeed a good idea.

Mostly firewall as Comodo is

Mostly firewall as Comodo is really finicky about changes in programs. I am running Avira AV as well and it sees no problems with the new app.

Do you use the free version of Avira or the pay version?

I'm using the free version of

Message 90202 in response to message 90201

I'm using the free version of Avira.

I cleared the list of pending files in the COMODO firewall, and now it seems like everything is working fine again - one WU finished successfully (http://einsteinathome.org/task/114694418), and 2 more are being processed by BOINC. I hope this solves my problem (if not, I'll post again).

Thanks for all your help
