A new Windows App is available from our Beta Test Page.

In addition to the fixes included in 6.09 this App also uses a newer version of the BOINC API code which should fix the problem of communicating with the graphics process on Win98/ME. It might well be that some other behavior changed, too, so please test this App also if you are running a recent version of Windows.

Switching from previous Apps 6.04 - 6.09 should be painless with the included app_info.xml.

Please test and report.

Good point.

No, it doesn't. But I doubt that we will issue more ABP1 work before scientists and technicians are back from holidays (Jan 5 2009).

See this thread for more info on the upcoming Pulsar Search experiment that examines EM data, in addition to the search thru LIGO data that is done in the ongoing S5R4 experiment.

Upgraded from 6.09 to 6.10

Upgraded from 6.09 to 6.10 and it correctly selected the _2 version to run. Partial WU in progress, will post if problems arise.

Is 6.10 only a bugfix or a speed-app? I'm still running 6.05 without any problems with checkpoints...

This is a bug fix/stability

This is a bug fix/stability kind of improvement. Having said that, it is still appreciated of course if users run this app even if they did not encounter any problems with former beta app versions. The beta test is to establish that the app is OK for general use and there could be new problems introduced with the last fix, so testing the newest beta app is always a good thing that helps the project :-).

ah, so that's why suddenly the CPU time required increased so much.. so I'm right in thinking that 6.08 is the latest speed app?
