Due to recently massive abuse of the Einstein@home website for hosting content that can only be described as spam we had to restrict creation of user profiles to participants that already donated some computation time and gained some credit.
Also profiles of accounts that don't even have a single host attached have been disabled. This was meant to block the existing spam content from being shown on this website. If any human participant (instead of a spam bot) was affected by this, he can simply create the profile again. If for any reason you can't do this (because you don't have a backup or sth.), please notify the moderators, we'll take a look at the profile an might re-enable it.
Sorry for anyone interested in this project who was unintentionally affected by this, but with the more than 60.000 actual spam accounts we couldn't take a close look at each individual profile.

How long does it take to allow creating posts? I recently installed BOINC, attached to Einstein@home and have credits.
Thanks,

Never mind. I now see the "New Thread" button :)

How do I update and/or change my profile??
Try the "Your account" link

Try the "Your account" link at the bottom of this page. On the resulting page under Community (top right) there are the "Profile View | Delete" links. In your profile, you'll find an "Edit your profile" link.

[edit]And your request is pretty much off topic. Next time open a separate thread. :-)[/edit]

I am also wondering how long it will take for my account to be allowed points. This project seems rather interesting!

Pretty quick, a matter of days!
Welcome to E@H Todd. It is a very interesting project indeed! :-)
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

If you want to see credit points, you need to download and crunch some tasks. You can't do that until you have a computer attached to the project. At the moment you don't seem to have done that step. Have you actually downloaded and installed BOINC? Your computer gets attached to your project(s) of choice during BOINC installation.
Also, you don't need to set up a profile in order to do work. Profile setup is optional and can be done (if you wish) at a later stage.
Cheers,
Gary.

Thank you Bernd. I understand your policy and it makes perfect sense.
May I ask for a review of my profile -- I created it over a week ago and would like to get it visible publicly, if it meets the requirements.

I am not sure where else to post this.
I thought I was a member in good standing, but apparently not.
Consequently, I shall need to disconnect.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
If posting to a thread is such a hassle, then I need to abandon this effort and wish you all well and goodbye.
