Hmmm... A suggestion;

Hmmm...

A suggestion; Since this is a sticky thread, started by Bernd, primarily to make announcement of and news about about credit adjustments for EAH...

I make the motion that we take the detailed discussion of the ramifications, means and methodology, and the need to just plain go "ARRRGGGGH!!!" about it once in awhile to Mike's "Thoughts On Credits" thread.

I'm open to the idea of starting a new thread, but am becoming somewhat uncomfortable with giving the wrong kind of impression when we fold, spindle, and mutilate the current system in a thread started by a project principal not specifically intended for that purpose.

I think it just looks better to leave this thread for statements of current policy and procedures, and questions directly related to that.

Sure...

If one of the mods wants to make the various moves, then they have my condolences, as it will take a while... ;-)

Hmmm... Good point,

Hmmm...

Good point, although that seems to be a lot of work for little practical benefit.

How about if a specific topic or comment here wanted to be pursued further, then a link to the message ID for it and/or copy-paste as appropriate to 'beam it in' to the other thread, so to speak?

That should allow for adequate continuity, without creating busy work for Mike, Gary, or Bikeman. ;-)

I'll leave the existing post/threads as they are, as I'm in lazy mood today .... :-)

However, any further discussion on the 'general' credit issues ought continue on here ( & now stickied ), as opposed to the specific R3 to R4 transition/adjustment credit topic which could remain here.

PS... One other thing. there is a credit war in the making within Milky Way right now as someone apparently has made an optimized client and is getting 1.5 million credits a day..... Just one more reason that the more I look at other projects besides Einstein and CPDN that I'm glad I found the 2 best!!!!!

You're wrong.

I may have misspoken. Apparently there are some disenfrancised people who don't have access to an optimized client. Some say it's fine because its open source and some are complaining because he/she has an unfair advantage by racking up credits at an astronomical rate. I have no bones in whatever it is. Don't really care as I was looking for a different project to share time with einstein and I don't think MW is it for me.

Sorry if this has misinformed or mislead anyone.

now that I've managed to get to the end of this thread I will refrain from any futher discussion on the matter.

Optimised clients ( NOT the science apps ) augered in here at E@H as credit determining vehicles, because of the pretty obvious difficulties that arise. Hence the pure server side allocation of credit. Users are welcome to use optimised clients if they wish ..... :-)

Cheers, Mike.

Somehow I got sidetracked and kept my mouth open when I should have kept it closed. Not being involved there for very long I wasn't completely aware of all the things going on and was only looking at the difference I was getting in credit.

I need to learn to keep my mouth shut when I don't enough about what I'm talking about. It's a lot easier to extract my feet in that case.

Sorry for the mess I created.

If all left-over R3's do this, I will feel sorry for Brian. ;-)

Unless I'm just too tired...

It looks to me like 977488 beat 938001 back on deadline by a few hours.
