Hate that large blue block on the left-side.

Doesn't work on mine.

I find this not relevant, but i'd like that baloon tip appearing from systray, to go away on its own after a sec. or 2.

Yes, where is it? Would it take another 10M to have it back?

Man! That's the biggest step back they made with new CC.

So will I.

And people say size doesn't matter?

Graphics works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

9. I have swap between projects interval set to 150min (so predictor WU's finish in one step). BUT, when I do a manual update, CC suspends current project (before 150mins. have passed) and resumes with the project I update. (I can post logs of this issue)

I agree to everything but #8, it works fine with me.
But I'll add one more:

10. Where are the graphic displays on the disc usage tab? The 'info' in this tab is just useless, if not compared to the whole system. I don't care about the layout, but the lost informations about used and unused space for boinc and other.

I successfully upgraded to

I successfully upgraded to 4.25 yesterday after uninstall of 4.19. No serious functional issues with 4.25 but i just decided to downgrade to 4.19 again. The 4.25 user interface is visually unpleasant and from the usability point of view simply an ugly, clumsy mess in comparison to the 4.19 design. A real big step back.

So i uninstalled 4.25 and reinstalled 4.19 again. 4.19 started right there where 4.25 left off. Good work!

Sorry, i admire the work of the developers in increasing functionality, but the work of the 'usability' designer is at least a mess. A nice and functional user interface with minimal fuss is 'a must' for a program thats constantly running on the desktop.

I had tried it out in several

I had tried it out in several beta versions, tbh I expected some things to become more functional (figured the devs hadn't gotten to them yet...as making sure the code is stable and all takes precedence). Among them, and some mentioned already:

- Not able to sort columns at all for display
- The disk tab is rather spartin. People are also correct, the amount of disk space used by project itself, can be somewhat meaningless without a comparison to how much free space is available for BOINC, and what % used...

Noing for instance that I'm using 19 MB for E@H, 6 MB for SETI, and 7 MB for Predictor (approxamates) wouldn't mean anything, if I didn't remember I have 5 GB set aside for BOINC. It's when 95% space set aside for BOINC is used up for instance, that it wold give a warning signal to users "should free up space soon, or make more available"

- Being able to right click items would be nice. Again, not something I necessarily expect in a development version, as there are more pressing issues, but when it goes live, it would be nice to add that.

tbh, it looks like 4.25 is somewhat unfinished from a UI standpoint...

Functionally, I haven't had a prob in the last several versions that I know of, though I'll reserve judgement till it's tracked down what might have suddenly started happening to my E@H WUs in the past day as mentioned in my WTF? thread and where the issue lies... I'm rather mystified about that one...

hm, in some points you are right, but in some time you wont have a choice, it's like if you now try to participate with boinc release 3.07 or something... its more or less important for the developers that everybody use more or less new / equal versions. At this moment 4.19 is still ok but it won't be in too much time..

As someone who used the old boinc for a staggering two days before upgrading, I think you're right. I'm finding it a friendly little beast.

I don't like the new window

I don't like the new window to the left either. It was much better right clicking and using commands that way. Also i would like to see the progress bar back as well.

One good thing though is that Boinc does not assume any more that your computer is on 24/7 and you get work units according to how long it's on how many days you've got your cache set to. Also Boinc now seems to recognise when you are running more than 1 project so you don't seem to get say 3 days of work for each project. You'll get 1.5days of work for each project if you resource share is equal between the two projects.

Erm, just to put my oar

Erm, just to put my oar in:
-I liked the style of the 4.19er more
-Graphics doesn't work
-running as service - wonderful, we had to wait long for that ;-)
-even the Dhrystone value of the Linux version is bigger
(linux 4.25 p4 optimized: ~3k, win 4.25 std.: 2,6k, win 4.19 std.: ~4k)
-> I hope it wont run slower

edit: - and please add a status bar ;-)

Please file a bug report at the BOINC bug reporting page:
http://bbugs.axpr.net/

Be sure to indicate that graphics worked for 4.19 and fails for 4.25, and that nothing else has changed: the application is identical.
