I just received another batch of WUs and among mostly S5R3s I found a couple of S5R2s. I thought that the S5R2 WUs were gone. Am I being persecuted just because I have a system that is a little faster than the average and am expected to crunch larger files (LOL)? Actually, I don't care what WUs I get and would rather have the larger S5R2s but I thought that they were gone. More info would be appreciated!

Keep on crunching E@H,

S5R2 WUs STILL AROUND?

They are resends. Of others that had errors, didn't meet the deadline or just had other problems. It happens.

How long should we expect them? As I indicated earlier I like the larger WUs. Can I get more?

I guess there will be S5R2 units around for a couple of weeks, but whether you get one will depend on whether you have any datafiles that match the resends. Pure "luck", in other words.

I like "luck" since I am stupid as a stone (:). I just hoped that there was a way to obtain them in some way.

Thanks,

Since the last S5R2 Beta apps

Since the last S5R2 Beta apps are incompatible with S5R3, you could try running only with the beta application. If you have it, as the only one available from the download site for Windows is the S5R3 Beta app with its app_info.xml file.

For as long as there's only S5R3 work in the queue, you'd get a "no work from project" message and no work downloaded. But S5R2 work available could be downloaded.

But I think that's a bit too much, having the chance to have one or more cores run dry for prolonged periods of time.

I agree about having the core/s run dry. I would rather take what I can get than have my computer/s run with nothing to do. I run my computer/s 24/7 whether they are working on something or not so I would much rather have them working on something.

Thanks everyone,

Hi! Just as a side note, I

Hi!

Just as a side note, I do seem to remember that people asked for shorter units, now there's so much affection for the "Monster units" that people begin to miss them ;-)

Just kidding ..

Shorter units? These still run for 28 hours or more. Not much difference between 28 and 33 hours. Shorter, hah! :-D
