Hello,

i've two maschines and on both running E@H.

My question is, why is the 3800+ (2Ghz) faster then the 5600+ (2,8Ghz)?

Both running under Win Xp and with app. version 4.33.

You need to look at the size of the WUs, the 5600 is 40% faster. Your 3800 is doing 450 credit WUs in 32hrs for ~14 credits/hour/core. The 5600 is doing 665 credit WUs in 33hrs for ~20 credits/hour/core.

By any chance is the 5600+ a Socket 939 processor and the 3800+ a Socket AM2?

That would certainly explain it....

Pete: Like I said, look at

Pete: Like I said, look at the size of the WUs Fabian is running. The only reason it looks like the 3800 is running faster is that the 5600's WUs are 1/3rd larger and taking slightly more time on the wall clock to complete. In terms of credit/hour it's scoring 40% higher, which is also the clock speed advantage it has over the lesser chip. There never was a 5600 in 939m amd couldn't get them that fast on stock cooling and in hot environments until after the new socket came out.

Edit: not in reasonable quantities anyway, there might've been an dual core 939/940 operteron or Fx-NN running at 2.8gig, but IIRC the only 2.9 939/940 chip was single core.
