Hey guys and gals

First of all I wanted to say hello and that im excited baout possibly contributing something here.

secondly i wanted to ask if my times look to be reasonable. I am running a Powerbook G4 1.67 with OSX 10.4.9 . I think the work unit i am doing is called h1_0287.70_S5R2__70_S5R2c_5 . it has been running for eight hours over night and is 15% finished with 115 hours to go. I understand my computer is slower than most but i just want to make sure this is on par with what other PB G4 users are getting, if there are any others...

also, I wondered if anyone knew of an application for macs that will allow me to measure how much power is being consumed my computer? im curious what the power usage is when leaving this running 24/7.

thanks,
DOUG

Answer to question two, check out Kill-A-Watt. Just plug your Mac (or any other appliance) into it and it'll measure how much it takes.

(With thanks to Eric Myers for that).

There is an article in the Technology section of the NY Times online edition that details the power consumption of home appliances and devices, including computers. I cannot link to it because a registration is required.
