To change the tone, just for

To change the tone, just for a bit, let's hold positive thoughts for the people of Japan. Having lived and worked in Tokyo and traveled there for business and pleasure subsequently, my thoughts and prayers go out to all. Google has many resources, maps, live streaming and ways to help, if you are inclined.

Yes. I agree. Those aerial shots of the dear people fleeing with the wave bearing down on them was chilling.

Cheers, Mike.

Discovered some new terms.

Discovered some new terms. The Fukushima Nuclear power plant is disassembling because of a worst than worst case scenario.

Its proven that nuclear accidents can be really really bad. No matter how cock sure you have all the bases covered, the standard rule of thumb is ' Do not build nuclear reactors in subduction zones'...

Well, here's a fairly

Well, here's a fairly detailed and understandable narrative ( but note who is publishing it ) on the events.

Personally I found this comment rather sharp :

Quote:
Japan suffered an earthquake and tsunami of unprecedented proportion that has caused unbelievable damage to every part of their infrastructure, and death of very large numbers of people. The media have chosen to report the damage to a nuclear plant which was, and still is, unlikely to harm anyone. We won’t know for sure, of course, until the last measure to assure cooling is put in place, but that’s the likely outcome. You’d never know it from the parade of interested anti-nuclear activists identified as “nuclear experts†on TV.

Maybe Jane Fonda could do a piece for us? :-)

Cheers, Mike.
