Personally, I don't. Maybe they were a bit quick releasing the new app and starting the run, but that doesn't mean they're clueless. We all make mistakes, and I bet it'll get more stable in no time.

I think you're probably right, my post was more of a response to the humor of the previous one. I think in time they'll work it out where everyone gets as close as possible to a "fair shake". If they expect to keep the membership increasing rather than (horror of horrors) begin to fall, they really don't have much of a choice.

There's competition out there, and it's only going to become more intense. Free computing power is hard to beat.

I was averaging over 425

I was averaging over 425 credits a day with E@H, now I am lucky to receive 100 with the new version. I understand it is a new version, but to roll it out when it is just entering beta testing does not make any sense.
Time to find another project.

You're doing roughly 275 credits/day with the current app, which is on par with the credit adjustment (einstein was granting significantly more than most other projects), but 2 of the 3 new WUs you've done are still pending because the other person assigned them hasn't returned a result yet.

I have AMD Sempron 3400 with Win XP Pro x64. I am not overclocked at 2 Ghz. S5RI Work Unit 33368385 says it will process for about 42 hours. Nearly done with unit. Deadline is much shorter than other which require much less time to run. Three projects presently have work and are sharing time. I do not like 40 hours processing to finish one work unit. I like maximum work units of 8 to 10 hours. If I had five active projects, I think the einstein would deadline before finished.

My second slowest system has

My second slowest system has received 3 S5RI WUs over the last 24 hrs.

They were all re-issues. S5RI isn't over yet!

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

You probably have already checked this, but at first I was getting an abnormally large number completed units with points pending. Today, every one has now been credited, albeit at a rate of about 65% of the R1s.

Also, I have completed some smaller units that yeild approx. 156 pts as apposed to the 205 I was getting on the first ones I completed. However, the new smaller units are producing an even lower number of pts per hour than the initial jobs, although the difference is very small. However, they still seem to be moving in the wrong direction.

As long as your uptime remains consistant on a day to day basic it won't. Your client will go into EDF (earliest deadline first) mode, crunch the einstien WU exclusively, building up longterm debt in the process. The presence of the debt will result in your client not immediately DLing a new einstien WU until it catches up on your other projects again.

My pendings have positively

My pendings have positively sky-rocketed with the beginning of S5R2, averaging around 700 when I hardly had more than 200 before, usually only around 100. But I don't really mind, I'm still going to get those credits. Maybe it has to do with sth as simple as my higher resource shares on Einstein, or so many people having problems with the new app and shifting resources. Or maybe I'm just sharing my datafile with some slow hosts.

This is definately more of an issue now. The ~6x larger average WU size means that if you get stuck with a slow/mia host it'll affect you for much longer than it used to.
